Privacy Policy — Pulse

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Pulse (“the app”), on Android, iPhone and Apple Watch, is developed by Almas Apps LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. In short: Pulse has no account, no server and no analytics of its own, and your health data never leaves your device unless you send it somewhere. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, described below.

Health and Fitness Data

The app reads your heart rate from a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) heart rate monitor, from the rear camera (below), or, on Apple Watch, from the watch’s own heart-rate sensor. It can record completed workouts (duration, time in heart-rate zones, average/min/max heart rate, an activity type and an optional note) and your age, which is used to estimate your heart-rate zones. All of it is processed and stored entirely locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, store, or share your personal health data with any external servers. There is no account and no Pulse cloud.

On iOS, a workout recorded on your Apple Watch is sent directly to the Pulse app on your paired iPhone through Apple’s Watch Connectivity, not through any server of ours. The Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, the watch complications and the Live Activity read the same on-device data.

Camera

Pulse can estimate your heart rate from a fingertip held over the rear camera and flash. The camera is used as a sensor: frames are analysed in memory on your device to detect the pulse signal and are never saved, recorded, or uploaded. This feature is optional and only runs while its screen is open.

Data you choose to send elsewhere

Nothing leaves your device unless you ask it to. These features can, and all are off until you use them:

What happens to data after it reaches Health Connect, Apple Health or a file you chose is governed by those services and by any other app you have given access to it.

You can delete your entire on-device workout history at any time from Settings, and uninstalling the app removes everything it stores. Copies already in Health Connect, Apple Health or an exported file stay there until you delete them.

Purchases

Pulse Pro is an optional subscription that removes ads and unlocks extra features. On Android it is sold through Google Play Billing, under Google’s Privacy Policy. On iOS it is sold through Apple’s App Store, under Apple’s Privacy Policy, and is managed and cancelled in your Apple Account settings. Pulse never sees your card details, and there is no account to create. We receive only whether the subscription is currently active, in order to unlock the features it includes, plus anonymized sales reports from the store.

Advertising

The free version of the app uses Google AdMob to display a banner ad. AdMob may automatically collect certain information about your device, such as your advertising ID, IP address, and device analytics, to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. Pulse never gives AdMob your heart rate, workouts or any other health data. For more information on how Google collects and uses your data, please review the Google Privacy Policy.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Pulse asks for your consent through Google’s consent message before any ad loads. You can decline, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings (Android: Settings → About → Ad privacy choices; iOS: Settings → Your data → Ad privacy choices).

On iOS, after any consent message, Pulse shows Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. Your answer only decides whether ads may be personalized. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, you still see non-personalized ads, and you can change your answer later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Ads are limited to content rated PG, and ads for gambling, alcohol, dating, social casino games and sexual content are blocked. With Pulse Pro, no ads are shown, and on iOS the ad SDK is not started at all.

Permissions we request

Android

iPhone and Apple Watch

Pulse on iOS does not request your location, contacts, photos or microphone.

Children

Pulse is intended for adults (18 and over) and is not directed at children. As a safeguard, Pulse asks your age when you first open it. If someone enters an age under 13, every ad request is marked as directed to children and limited to general-audience (G) content, with no personalized ads. Users under 16 get non-personalized ads only, and on iOS they are not shown the consent message or the tracking prompt. Pulse has no accounts, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy
