Terms of Service — Kalorie

Last updated: 12 August 2026

Kalorie (“the app”) is published by Almas Apps LLC (“we”, “us”). These terms cover using the app and buying the optional paid features. Using the app means you accept them. They are written to be read; where a term exists to protect us rather than you, it says so.

What the app is

A calorie and macronutrient diary that runs on your phone. It stores what you log, adds it up, and shows you the result. The food database ships inside the app, so it works with no network connection and no account.

It is not medical advice

This is the term to read even if you skip the rest. The app is a general-purpose tracking and information tool. It is not a medical device, and nothing in it — targets, estimates, charts, trends or reports — is medical, nutritional or health advice, diagnosis or treatment.

The daily targets the app can work out from your age, height, weight, activity and goal are produced by a standard published formula applied to numbers you typed in. The app presents them as a range rather than a figure precisely because they are an estimate, and it changes nothing until you choose to apply them. Real energy needs vary between people with identical inputs.

Nutrition figures come from public food databases and from packaging data contributed by the public. They can be incomplete or wrong, portions vary, and a scanned product may not match what is in front of you. Treat every number as an approximation.

Do not use the app to diagnose or treat anything. Talk to a qualified professional before changing your diet, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are under 18, have a medical condition, take medication, or have any history of disordered eating. If you are struggling with food, please reach out to a doctor or a support service in your country rather than to a number in an app.

Your data is yours, and it stays on your device

We do not receive, store or process your diary. There are no accounts and no servers. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy, and it is part of these terms.

Because your data lives only on your device, keeping it is your responsibility. If you lose, wipe or replace your phone without a backup, we cannot restore anything for you — we have no copy to restore from. The app can write a complete backup file at any time and can back up automatically to a folder you choose; both are free, and using them is the only protection against losing your history.

Free and paid features

The core of the app is free: logging, the whole food catalog, barcode scanning, backup and restore, CSV export and import, and daily targets. Some additional features are part of Kalorie Pro, which is optional. You never have to buy anything to keep using the app or to get your data out of it.

We may change which features are free and which are part of Pro. If a feature you already paid for moves, your purchase continues to cover it.

Prices, billing and cancellation

Purchases are sold and processed by Google Play, not by us. Google is the merchant of record; your payment details never reach us.

PlanPrice (USD)Renews
Monthly subscription$2.49 / monthEvery month until cancelled
Annual subscription$15.49 / yearEvery year until cancelled
Lifetime$49.99 onceNever — it is a one-time purchase

Prices are in US dollars. Google shows and charges the price in your own currency and adds any tax that applies, so the figure you see at checkout is the one that governs. Prices may change; a change to a subscription you already hold takes effect only after Google notifies you, and you can cancel instead.

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them. Cancel any time in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions; you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.

There is no free trial, of any length, in any form. We would rather show you what is free and let you decide than start a clock.

Lifetime means a one-time payment for as long as the app exists and your Google account holds the purchase. It does not renew and nothing further is charged. It is not a promise that the app will be published forever — see “If the app is discontinued” below.

If you bought Pro and it is not showing, reinstall the app and open Settings — the app asks Google what your account owns and restores it. There is no separate code or receipt to keep.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Google Play under its own refund policy, since Google took the payment. Google’s standard window for an app or in-app purchase is short, so ask promptly. You may also have rights under your local consumer law that these terms do not affect. If something in the app is broken, email us first — we would rather fix it, and we can often do that faster than a refund is processed.

Early installs keep Pro

Everyone who installed the app before paid features launch keeps them free, permanently, at no charge. The app determines this from your install date on the device. This is a commitment we built into the app rather than a discretionary favour, and it applies whether or not you ever open this page.

What you agree not to do

Don’t redistribute or resell the app or its food database as your own, try to break the paid features or obtain them without paying, or use the app to break the law. You may freely export your own data and do whatever you like with it — that is the point of the export features, and nothing here restricts it.

The food database

Food data is adapted from Health Canada’s Canadian Nutrient File, USDA FoodData Central (public domain) and Open Food Facts contributors (ODbL), and is used under those sources’ terms. Those organisations do not endorse this app and are not affiliated with it. Errors in the database are ours to fix, not theirs — report one from inside the app and it goes on the list.

Availability, and if the app is discontinued

We do not promise the app will be available forever, or that it will run on every device or every future version of Android. If we ever stop publishing it, the copy installed on your phone keeps working as it is — it needs no server and no licence check to run — and your data stays on your device where you can export it. We would announce a discontinuation through the Play listing before removing anything.

Warranty and liability

The app is provided “as is”. We do our best — the release history shows bugs fixed ahead of features — but we cannot warrant that it is free of defects or that every nutrition figure is correct.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you actually paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud — and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything in this section.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change we will update this page and the date at the top. For a change that materially affects a subscription you hold, Google notifies you through the Play Store and you can cancel rather than accept.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings there.
